Description Paint Prep Technician Position Summary The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for preparing parts and whole goods for paint application while maintaining quality standards, efficiency, and safety within the paint department. This position supports the Paint Team by ensuring proper preparation, cleanliness, and organization to produce a high-quality finished product. Company Employee Requirements All Harper Industries employees are expected to demonstrate: Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Emotional intelligence and professionalism Effective communication and organizational skills Ability to problem-solve quickly and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment Continuous drive to improve processes and efficiencies Ability to stand, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, push, and pull for extended periods Ability to lift 50+ pounds Ability to work collaboratively with the Paint Team Essential Functions & Physical Requirements Ability to stand for the majority of the workday Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers Repetitive motion throughout the shift Ability to lift 50+ pounds consistently Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently Ability to operate a forklift and obtain Harper Industries certification Position Qualifications Detail-oriented with the ability to process work orders accurately Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions Strong communication skills Ability to assess priorities in a time-sensitive environment Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision Basic mechanical aptitude preferred Primary Responsibilities Prepare parts and whole goods for paint application Apply proper thickness of paint to maintain expected quality finish Prime, paint, and apply GatorHyde in the paint booth as needed Blow off paint carts prior to painting Prep flatbeds for GatorHyde application Apply GatorHyde to flatbeds Clean and maintain paint guns daily Assist with routine filter changes Maintain paint kitchen responsibilities Wash carts in the wash bay Assist with loading and unloading parts on paint carts Maintain a clean and organized workspace Follow all safety procedures and company policies Perform other duties as assigned Pre-Employment Requirements Employment with Harper Industries is contingent upon successfully passing: Pre-employment background check Pre-employment drug screening
