PROJECT ENGINEER – PAINT BOOTH CONSTRUCTION & MODIFICATIONS 1501780 ABOUT THE ROLE Project Engineer to lead paint booth modification and construction projects within its manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone with a blend of engineering knowledge and field/construction experience who enjoys managing projects from planning through execution. The position focuses heavily on coordinating contractors, managing installation activities, reviewing drawings, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. ---------------------------------------- RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage paint booth modification and construction projects * Lead structural and airflow improvement projects within paint booths * Develop project scope, schedules, budgets, and bid packages * Review and modify AutoCAD drawings * Coordinate contractors, vendors, and skilled trades * Ensure compliance with OSHA and local safety codes * Oversee equipment installation and project execution * Monitor project milestones and resolve delays * Work closely with engineering teams, contractors, and manufacturing leadership ---------------------------------------- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related) OR equivalent technical/trade experience * 3+ years of manufacturing experience * 3+ years managing engineering or construction projects * Experience managing projects valued around $500K or larger * AutoCAD drawing review/modification experience * Experience creating bid specifications and negotiating with contractors * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings * Strong project coordination and communication skills * Microsoft Office proficiency ---------------------------------------- IDEAL BACKGROUND Candidates from any of the following industries would be a strong fit: * Automotive Manufacturing * Industrial Construction * Commercial Construction * Industrial Mechanical Contracting * HVAC Systems * Sheet Metal Fabrication * Manufacturing Facilities Engineering * Industrial Maintenance Engineering * Plant Expansion Projects ---------------------------------------- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE * Commercial construction projects * Paint booth systems * Airflow or ventilation systems * Environmental controls * Sheet metal fabrication or installation * Utility systems * OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 * Toyota manufacturing experience * Automotive paint process experience ---------------------------------------- WHAT THE HIRING MANAGER IS REALLY LOOKING FOR The ideal candidate is someone who has spent time both in engineering and in the field—not just behind a desk.
