Description

The Quality Assurance Inspector coordinates all site inspections to ensure all work is correctly prepared prior to any inspection being undertaken. The inspector will also review work procedures and method statements for compliance with excellent work practices and the customers’ contract specialization. Prepares non-conformance reports and assist in developing corrective actions for noncompliance. Coatings QA/QC Inspector Level I, II, or III (NACE, NBPI, PCI) shall demonstrate a thorough working knowledge and proven ability of all phases and types of coating applications, methods and recognized industry standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)

MINIMUM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience as a Coating Inspector for coating / painting activities on a variety of steel and concrete structures including, but not limited to marine

OTHER SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relations with client and co-workers.
  • Mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours.

Responsibilities
  • Review the applicable paint system compatibility
  • Initiate the qualification of the Sand Blasters/Painters for approval
  • Ensure the readiness of the QA/QC requirements are met before start of painting/coating application.
  • Ensure the calibration/validation of Sand Blasting/Painting Equipment, tools, etc.
  • Monitor the air temperature, dew point, relative humidity
  • Inspect the WFT, DTF by using the relevant inspection tools
  • Prepare the inspection reports
