Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Automotive Paint Technician Assistant to join our reconditioning or collision repair team. The Paint Technician Assistant plays a crucial role in preparing vehicles for paint, cosmetic repair, or final detailing. This includes sanding, taping, masking, and ensuring surfaces are clean and properly prepped to meet high-quality standards. Requirements Responsibilities: Sand and feather automotive surfaces for paint application Mask and tape vehicles accurately to protect non-painted areas Clean panels thoroughly to ensure surface readiness Apply primers, sealers, or adhesion promoters as directed Move vehicles in and out of prep/paint booths and staging areas Inspect body panels for imperfections or contamination prior to paint Assist painters and body technicians with repair flow Maintain cleanliness of work area, tools, and safety equipment Follow all company safety and quality standards Qualifications: Previous experience in auto body prep, collision repair, or reconditioning preferred Familiarity with sanding blocks, DA sanders, masking materials, and prep chemicals Understanding of automotive paint processes, a plus Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on feet for extended periods Must be dependable, detail-focused, and a team player High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required The successful candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
