Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paint Technician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the lead paint technician with various tasks related to the preparation, painting, and finishing of vehicles. One to two years of auto body prepping experience is required (prepare vehicles properly for paint, including taping, masking, priming; assist technician in other areas as assigned, work closely with team to meet deadlines, keep area clean and organized for production efficiency). This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for automotive work. Requirements Requirements Key Responsibilities/Qualifications Preparation: Assist in cleaning and preparing vehicles for painting by washing, sanding, and masking as required. Help in mixing and preparing paint according to the required specifications. Ensure all surfaces are properly prepared before painting, including minor repairs and touch-ups. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure quality finishes and prevent contamination. Finishing: Assist in inspecting painted surfaces for defects and imperfections. Perform post-painting tasks such as polishing, buffing, and detailing to ensure a high-quality finish. Support in the reassembly of vehicle components post-painting. Maintenance: Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly and kept in good working condition. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in maintaining inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Vocational training or certification in automotive painting or related field is a plus. Experience: One to two years of experience in an automotive body shop or related environment required. Familiarity with automotive paint processes and materials is an advantage. Skills: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team. Basic understanding of automotive painting equipment and techniques. Good manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, bending, and lifting. Personal Attributes: Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic. Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment. Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
