JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the shop lead, the Painter will assist in achieving departmental goals, using general painting and sheetrock tools to apply necessary material to achieve wall preparation and painting objectives.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) years experience as a full-time painter.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Spray painting, mixing and matching stains, sheetrock mudding, and installation.

Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance and direction for project helpers. Coordinate and assign specific job duties. Ensure quality, quantity, and thoroughness of helper-assigned tasks.
- Interpret and clarify work order requests for all painting duties. Evaluate to ensure submissions do not violate regulatory codes. Respond to requests with a time frame of completion and cost estimate.
- Assist staff with related work requests to accurately determine specific needs. Draw rough sketches to ensure a clear understanding of the request. Accurately measure items or areas to request explicit material(s) to perform a particular job.
- Use hand and power tools to apply material as specified by product recommendations for a quality product. Properly apply all types of material related to sheetrock, wall covering, and painting material. Use equipment properly to prep areas in need of wall surrounding or painting.
- Provide advice, information, and assistance for occupancy on proper color and materials. Provide updated material and color chip samples. Recommend to supervisor adequate application of the material.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
