Role: Painter & Decorator (Residential Childcare and Education)
Hours: Monday-Friday core hours 9am-5pm (flexibility required, occasional evening and weekend working)
Location: To work across all Halliwell sites.
Salary: £26,607- £29,805 per annum (dependant on experience and qualifications).

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

  • City and Guilds (6707 or 7907) or NVQ level 2 in painting and decorating or relevant qualification
  • Good standard of English, Maths & IT (GCSE Grade c and above)
  • Experience of plastering, tiling and joinery
  • Experience of working in environments with vulnerable or challenging individuals with the safety of oneself and others.
  • Practical experience working in a handyperson or similar role
  • Experience working with customers and working to customer standard requirements
  • Experience prioritising own workload and diarising appointments to maximise best use of time in a working day
  • Experience maintaining records on refurbishment works and in working to industry standards
  • Experience in sourcing appropriate equipment, tools and materials to carry out handyman / decorating duties appropriate to the working environment and in always in a safe manner
  • Experience in recognising own ability and skill set and when a job needs passing on to an accredited professional e.g. electrical type work
  • Willingness to commit to complete relevant training.
Responsibilities

The Painter& Decorator will report into the Health, Safety and Maintenance Coordinator and the main purpose of this role will be to safely, efficiently and effectively undertake emergency patch repairs and minor refurbishment works at our eight sites around the Stockport and Hyde area in order to support the delivery of the Restorative Parenting® Recovery Programme to maintain a therapeutic environment, including repainting walls, minor plasterwork repairs and refurbishing of bedrooms in preparation for new placements. It is also expected that the job holder shall be able to carry out minor joinery or plumbing repairs and make safe emergency repairs such as boarding windows or blanking off damaged sockets. There will also be a requirement to assist in health and safety checks.
