About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for the decorating and maintenance of hotel furniture, wallcoverings, and plant throughout the hotel. While strong painting and decorating skills are essential, we’re also looking for someone with general maintenance or handyman experience to support a wider range of upkeep tasks across the property. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience as a Painter, with skills in internal and external painting, wallpaper hanging, stripping, and stopping. Knowledge of various paints, adhesives, and wallcovering materials is also required. In addition, prior experience in general maintenance - such as basic repairs, minor carpentry, or furniture touch-ups would be highly beneficial. This role suits a self-motivated individual who can work independently, manage their time well, and is also comfortable supporting the team with tasks outside of painting. You’ll also be attending to jobs via our pager system (e.g., light bulb changes, TV queries), so being approachable and confident interacting with guests is important. Duties & Responsibilities Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintain the aesthetics of the hotel building Follow preventative maintenance schedule Complete tasks as assigned by the Coordinator Day-to-day repairs of hotel property Internal & external painting Furniture renovation Working in all areas of engineering Promotion of 'Safe Workplace' practices Perform general maintenance and repair tasks Must be able to work on a rotating roster over 7 days covering morning shift, evening shift and the weekend.
