Downer’s Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) business has a strong national portfolio of projects currently in delivery. RTS leverages Downer’s in-house capabilities to deliver integrated solutions across rollingstock, infrastructure, rail systems, operations and maintenance, and system integration. We are currently seeking an experienced Painter to join our team on a full‑time permanent basis at our Maryborough, Queensland site, supporting key rollingstock projects. About the role In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality painting and coating works while maintaining Downer’s strong safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include: Spray painting of rollingstock components and assemblies Application of protective coatings using conventional spray, airless spray, brush and roller Surface preparation, mixing processes and paint application Use of 2‑pack paints, epoxy coatings, body filler work, fiberglass and masking Reading and interpreting drawings, work instructions and specifications Safe storage and handling of solvents, chemicals and paints Applying quality systems and verifying work against compliance standards Working effectively both unsupervised and within a team environment About you Spray Painting trade qualifications Proven experience in automotive or industrial spray painting Experience within heavy industrial maintenance or rollingstock environments (highly regarded) Strong attention to detail and a safety‑first mindset EWP and/or Forklift tickets Desirable (but not essential) What we offer Full‑time permanent employment Job security with a strong pipeline of ongoing work Opportunity to work on major rollingstock projects with an industry leader A supportive, skilled and safety‑focused team environment A workplace where Zero Harm is central to everything we do Apply Now If this opportunity aligns with your experience and career goals, APPLY NOW!!
