Reporting to the Maintenance Manager assisting in maintaining the property to a 5 star standard.

Responsibilities
  • Painter will be required to attend to all painting jobs within the Hotel.
  • The ability to stain/paint timber work.
  • The ability to complete all assigned tasks in a timely, safe and professional manner with minimal disruption to guests and staff.
  • Report to Maintenance Manager if stock levels are low for all the items required to complete tasks.
  • Take instructions from General Manager & Maintenance Manager and observing jobs which need to be done and ensuring all bedrooms, corridors, public areas etc are maintained to company and guest standards.
  • Liaise and assist all departments with regard to painting issues especially housekeeping, reception and food production areas to ensure the timely completion of work and to promote a good working relationship with all concerned.
  • Keep all areas of work, storage etc clean, neat and organised at all times.
  • The ability to clean and touch up painted surfaces throughout the Hotel.
  • The ability to maintain all brushes and rollers in good condition.
  • The ability to use all safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders and other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies.
  • The ability to handle and report any accidents immediately, no matter how minor
  • The ability to respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation
  • The ability to perform other tasks or duties as assigned by management.
  • Liaise and maintain good working relations with all departments by responding promptly and effectively to problems and building service breakdowns.
  • Provide competent hands-on skills to ensure that all systems including (but not limited to), electrical, sewage, plumbing, heating, and lighting are maintained in good working order and ensure that any defects are corrected promptly and properly.
  • Ensure that all areas of the property are maintained in a safe condition and to take action immediately when unsafe conditions arise.
  • Be environmentally aware and monitor energy consumption and usage and develop energy awareness culture within the property.
  • Effectively manage all service contracts including – mechanical and electrical services, fire protection, lifts, building repairs, and energy supplies.
