Position Summary: The Paint Technician will be responsible for the application of paints and primers in aerospace manufacturing. Under minimal supervision, the Painter will effectively prepare and paint parts of aircraft in production, made according to specifications and schedule requirements, with epoxy primer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   * Work with a variety of materials, such as resins, carbon fiber, bonding, honeycomb fabric, and fiberglass * Perform a variety of activities including preparation of surfaces and mixing primer * Paints small parts and various surfaces according to required specifications * Interpret blueprints and read work orders, sketches, and operation sheets to comply with requirements. * Monitor and record equipment readings (pressure, humidity, oven temp history gauges etc.) * Perform layout and masking as necessary * Mix primers according to specifications * Paint major assemblies (fiberglass and composite material) and detail parts * Strip paint and prepare surfaces as required * Adhere to all documentation including travelers, build manuals, work instructions, quality procedures, inspection sheets, and drawings as applicable to the work being performed * Maintain a neat and orderly work area * Be aware of FOD & Tool control at all times * Continuously demonstrate 5S Application * and complies with all safety regulations. * Must be detail oriented in working with various composite materials, in all aspects of the composite process, including: crafting, sanding, assembly, clean room etiquette, and paint booth. * Ability to logically plan work steps needed to complete work assignments * Work both independently and as part of a team * Required participation in internal training as needed to perform the duties assigned to this role * Other duties as assigned Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES) * U.S. Person status required do to export control * High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred. * Possess the ability to adapt to a changing work environment and organizational demands. * Able to pass respirator fit test and maintain ability to wear respirator * Experience in masking using tape or paint preferred * Ability to see or correct to 20/20 * Ability to distinguish color (pass a colorblind test) * Strong attention to detail * Capable of standing and or sitting for extended periods of time * Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and the management team. * Must be well organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment * Must thrive in a team-oriented and deadline-driven environment * Ability to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English * Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints * Available to work periodic mandatory weekends and overtime Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
