POSITION SUMMARY

To provide both pro-active and re-active painting and decorating services, to maintain the decorative order and appearance of both back of house and front of house areas.

• Carry out planned and preventative decorating activities in accordance with the company and departmental standards to all areas of the hotel. This will include guest bedrooms, public areas, and all back of house areas.
• To carry out regular floor walks to inspect all wall coverings and paintwork to guest corridors and public areas including “back of house”.
• Take ownership for all work allocated to you, report and communicate to leadership team if you are unable to complete work.
• To be mindful of your surroundings and to make sure all equipment is handled, stored, and used correctly and safely. Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures. Report and tag ‘unsafe’ if equipment is broken or damaged.
• To have a good understanding of health and safety, always adhere to safe working practices, never compromising this.
• To be able to communicate effectively with service contractors and communicate effectively with team members throughout the hotel to ensure that the guest experience is not compromised. Respond positively and proactively to each request.
• To ensure that sufficient stocks of materials are available for general hotel maintenance as directed by TSD Management. Notify manager if additional supplies are required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience working as a painter and decorator essential.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
• Pro-active and reliable.
• Positive demeanor.
• Able to work alone and within a team.
• Technical skills to support ability to safely perform role and perform to a high standard.
• Organized and ability to manage time and workload.

EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION:

• Good level of English essential
