Key Responsibilities

  • Fault Diagnosis:Detect and diagnose problems in engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other mechanical components.
  • Repairs and Maintenance:Repair and replace worn or defective parts, and perform scheduled maintenance services.
  • Reassembly and Testing:Reassemble mechanical components after repair and test them for proper performance.
  • Diagnostic Technology:Utilize computers and specialized software to diagnose and test parts.
  • Roadworthiness:Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or provide details for required repairs.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualification:Completion of an Australian Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR30620) or a comparable qualification.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems, including ignition, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
  • Computer Literacy:Ability to use electronic vehicle diagnostic software and other computer-assisted diagnostic tools.
  • Problem-Solving:Strong aptitude for identifying and resolving mechanical issues effectively.

Work Environment

  • Motor mechanics typically work in garages or workshops.
  • Shift work and weekend shifts may be required.
  • The work can be physically demanding.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $95,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
