Convergint is looking for a Panel Shop Technician to join our amazing culture at our Calgary, AB location. As the Panel Shop Technician, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical best practices to build panel assemblies as required. Scope of work includes using hand and power tools to measure and cut materials for panel layout builds, wiring of various components as identified in the panel design and testing of panel functionality at completion of build. Ensures projects are effectively executed within budgeted cost and time schedules as determined at project turnover. Our company was built upon a solid foundation of 10 Values and Beliefs which drive our unmatched culture, making us the #1 global, serviced-based systems integrator in the industry.  We take great pride in protecting the lives and assets of our customers and their communities with the solutions we provide.  * Read and modify functional designs and drawing, which include panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and material selection  * Communicate changes required to drawings to the Warehouse Supervisor, and, if directed, to project lead designer. * Redline changes made to project drawings during the fabrication phase of the panel build. * Panel assembly, wiring and testing according to drawings and materials * Use a variety of tools and equipment such as measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. * Coordinate panel shop work and material for assigned project * Reporting of low levels of inventory stock to Warehouse Supervisor for ordering * Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times and participate in general cleanup of the overall panel shop  * Assist, when needed, with other projects as assigned including field installation support.  * Keep up to date and informed on all company policies  * Present a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior.  * Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.  * Communicate with and work with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.  * Execute all work in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures. * Perform other duties and responsibilities as required. What You’ll Need * Good technical skills and experience related to electrical principles that make up the HVAC Building Automation and Security systems we offer our clients. * Advanced ability to read drawings and blueprints * Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) * Excellent Customer Focus – Maintaining awareness of and seeking to meet of the needs and wants of the customer * Good verbal communication skills * Adaptability – Responds effectively to changes in situation or information Must arrive at work on time and ready to work based on the needs of the business. * Must have the appropriate tools for the job based on the Convergint Technology tool list requirements.
