Job Details Job Location: ROLLING HILLS CASINO - CORNING, CA Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $16.50 - $18.32 Hourly Job Shift: Day Job Category: Food & Beverage Description Summary A pantry steward is responsible for managing and maintaining the pantry and receiving areas of the casino kitchens or beverage walk-in areas. This role involves ensuring that all food supplies and ingredients are organized, properly stored, and readily available for use by chefs, kitchen staff, and beverage servers. A pantry steward oversees inventory management, including receiving shipments, checking product quality, building and delivering orders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains, organizes and cleans coolers, freezers and dry storage areas daily. Receives inbound shipments by verifying order accuracy. Ensure proper storage of food products by labeling items with dates and causes, adhering to the "First In, First Out" (FIFO) method. Assists in relocating products from freezers, refrigerators and dry storage areas to venues or outlets specified by the Chef or Lead. Counts or weighs incoming merchandise to verify specifications of items are correct. Occasionally transports products to other departments, using a hand truck, industrial truck, pallet jack, and forklift. Ensures that the receiving dock area is cleaned and free of safety hazards at the end of each shift. Responsible for unloading trucks and proper distribution of all received goods and merchandise. Periodically will be tasked with participating in deep cleaning projects and preparing food for our various kitchen outlets or concerts throughout the property. Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines when handling, storing, and rotating products. Assists the Food and Beverage department in pulling product for production. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 21 years of age Completion of Orientation and safety trainings Additional trainings as assigned Wear black nonslip shoes Supervisory Responsibilities This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and one year experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in shipping and receiving procedures. Knowledge of FIFO and HACCP practices strongly preferred. Must become fork-lift certified through Rolling Hills Casino within 30 days of start date if not already certified. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend basic written English instructions, diagrams, and professional emails. Able to communicate clearly and effectively with vendors, departments, and fellow co-workers through various forms of communication. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in common units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and situations. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission. Food handler’s permit from a relevant government agency. Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.
