Description:

  • The Paper Feeder produces all offset press projects in compliance with job specifications and in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. Coordinates workload schedule to meet customer time frame requirements while achieving optimum productivity. Works closely with other team members to exceed customer expectations.

  • Prepare loads for press by unwrapping, piling and airing loads.
  • Keep the record of paper stock and inventory for the paper stock.
  • Set double sheet detector to prevent double sheets from passing through the press
  • Continually check for bounce and ensure side guide is operating properly
  • Assist Second Pressman in placing inks into proper ink fountain and wash-up and changing of blankets.
  • Ensure chemicals are full and wipers are always available and Empty wiper bins when full
  • Assist crew in troubleshooting press to help reduce downtime and inefficiencies
  • Assist in performing scheduled press approvals.
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining the feeder section of the Press
  • Assist in operation of offset press to produce jobs.
  • Ensure paper is loaded into the feeding-end for running jobs, as well as maintain paper supply throughout the job run.
  • Remove and clean plates and cylinder at end of press run.
  • Mount plates and cylinders and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Perform routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
  • Operate equipment/ machine to produce orders.
  • Process handwork assembly according to specifications.
  • Read and understand docket instructions and specifications, seeking clarification and guidance as necessary.
  • Input the appropriate configuration based on job specifications and requirements.
  • Locate appropriate job order and load into the feeding end of the machine.
  • Retrieve applicable dies and other materials needed for the job run, checking for damage or issues.
  • Package jobs, complete work orders, and delivery receipts as necessary and placed in their assigned areas.
  • Perform quality controls on the assigned machine/ equipment.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns, conduct minor repairs, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Operate assigned equipment/machine in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Responsible for cleaning and machine setup of assigned equipment/machine.
  • Notify Bindery Supervisor and/or Team Lead of any quantity or quality issues.
  • Ensure that the area and the machine is kept in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.20-$25.84 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
