Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to conduct the Proper Officer function and provide paralegal support to the IAG Legal and Company Secretariat Team. The Proper Officer’s role is to ensure each IAG company complies with the subpoenas, notices and court orders served on it. You will assist in the following tasks:

  • Manage the end-to-end process in relation to subpoenas, statements of claim and other notices served on IAG companies;
  • Liaise with internal departments, external legal providers and relevant third parties including courts, tribunals, regulators, government agencies and external law firms as required;
  • Monitor, assist and advise on contentious and complex issues arising from subpoenas, notices and court orders, with supervision.

You will also provide paralegal assistance including in relation to electronic document execution and trademark registration process. Finally, you will provide support for risk management activities across the division.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney and offers hybrid working conditions.
