Job Description We are seeking an enthusiastic Paralegal to join our Sydney based team on a full time, permanent basis. This person will play an important role in providing paralegal and administrative support for our Legal team and facilitating the provision of legal services to the business. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Legal Counsel, you’ll be joining a national team of enthusiastic and driven individuals who strive for continuous improvement. This position will suit a proactive, composed, and self-starting Paralegal who wants to build on their previous experience within a collaborative and supportive organisation. What will you be responsible for? Manage and oversee document execution and filing processes, including obtaining mortgagee consents Assist with managing and updating precedent documentation Monitor and manage BPA Legal Notices inbox Manage PPSR registrations Maintaining databases and key document summaries Assist with managing engagement of external legal service providers and processing of legal invoices Assist team with tracking budgets and processing of monthly expenses Assist with updating policies and procedures Work with BPA Legal and Risk to implement processes Assist in maintaining records and auditing of professional certifications, including team practising certificates and real estate licences Assist with due diligence and obtaining property and company related searches using online databases and tools Liaising with BPG Legal and BAM Treasury teams to ensure up to date information on assets, co-owners, lenders and mortgagee consent requirements Provide administrative and secretarial support to Executive Vice President | Legal Counsel and the BPA Legal team Organise travel, itineraries and associated bookings for BPA Legal Organise meetings, workshops, conferences and events Maintain any subscriptions for products and services utilized by BPA Legal Maintain and update Legal Intranet page Assist and work with other Executive Assistants and support functions across BPA and BPG Legal where needed Fostering positive and strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders Completing work in a timely and accurate manner Develop understanding of the business and its culture Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to matters What experience and qualifications will you possess? Paralegal and/or administrative support experience in real estate is advantageous but not essential Students studying law with a keen interest in real estate will also be considered What skills and qualities do you have? Possess a pro-active, positive and flexible approach with a willingness to learn and show creativity and initiative Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally, clearly and effectively with all levels of management Strong time management skills with ability to prioritise tasks Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a high-performance, fast-paced environment, able to balance urgency and accuracy Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (notably Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Why work for us?
