The main role and responsibilities will include (although, this is not an exhaustive list):-

• Running a caseload of clinical negligence claims;
• Assisting solicitors and partners;
• Working to a chargeable hours target;
• Undertaking investigations, analysing evidence and preparing legal advice to clients;
• Drafting general correspondence and legal documents;
• Liaising with clients and third parties, including claimants and their representatives, Counsel and the Court;
• Undertaking legal research and quantifying damages;
• Liaising with witnesses and drafting witness statements;
• Instructing independent medical experts and Counsel;
• Attending conferences, hearings and dispute resolution meetings, such as mediations.

Supervision, support and relevant training will be provided although the successful applicant will also be encouraged, where appropriate, to use their own initiative.
