  • Previous experience in planning law is essential
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Stopping Up Orders, Section 106, Section 278, and TPOs
  • Strong drafting, research, and administrative skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Legal qualification or equivalent paralegal experience preferred

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Paralegal to join our team in Halton, supporting legal work in the field of planning law. This is a key role, ideal for someone with a strong understanding of relevant planning legislation and processes, and a keen eye for detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with and drafting Stopping Up Orders
  • Supporting the preparation and processing of Section 106 agreements (Planning Obligations)
  • Involvement in Section 278 agreements (Highways Works)
  • Advising on and supporting the management of Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs)
  • Conducting legal research, preparing documents, and maintaining accurate records
  • Liaising with local authorities, developers, solicitors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring all legal processes are compliant with relevant UK planning laws and regulations
