INDEPENDENT 1099 PARALEGAL (CONTRACT) MONTH-TO-MONTH – CASE DOCUMENTATION & TIMELINE SUPPORT We are seeking a highly organized, detail‑driven Independent 1099 Paralegal to work directly with our Chairman/Owner in preparing materials for an active legal matter. This role centers on sorting, analyzing, and organizing extensive documentation, as well as building a clear and accurate timeline of events critical to the case. If you excel at bringing order to complex information and can work independently with minimal oversight, we want to speak with you. This is an in person position in Lakewood, WA. (Not a remote role) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Organize, categorize, and analyze documents, ensuring all materials are properly labeled, indexed, and easy to reference. * Develop a comprehensive timeline of events, synthesizing information from multiple sources to support strategy. * Draft and proofread supporting materials including summaries, memos, correspondence, and other related documents. * Maintain structured digital and physical files using document management tools (e.g., iManage, PCLaw) or similar systems. * Handle administrative support tasks related to the case, including scheduling, communication tracking, and follow‑up on outstanding items. * Ensure all work meets professional standards for accuracy, confidentiality, and legal compliance. QUALIFICATIONS * Proven experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or case manager—preferably with exposure to litigation or multi‑layered document-heavy matters. * Strong ability to organize large volumes of information and distill key facts into clear summaries and timelines. * Proficiency with research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw) and document management systems (iManage, PCLaw, or equivalents). * Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading skills, and ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines. * Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting professionally with executives and stakeholders. * Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor, manage priorities, and maintain strict confidentiality. * Currently work under a firm / lawyer or have your own firm / UBI-TIN.  * Provide three professional references.
