Job Details Job Location: Madison, WI 53703 Position Type: Full Time DeWitt seeks a full-time Family Law Paralegal in its Madison, Wisconsin office. A DeWitt employee must be a team player, detail-oriented, have a proven work ethic, and have excellent communication skills. Savvy technical skills, professionalism, and the capability to manage the workflow of multiple attorneys will make you a well-rounded candidate. Responsibilities: Drafting motions, pleadings, judgments, statements, documents, and other correspondence (e.g., financial disclosures, debt and asset lists, witness affidavits, child support worksheets, responsive pleadings, etc.) Maintaining attorney calendars and case files Scheduling appointments, court appearances, and mediation/deposition hearings Serving as a liaison between the client and attorney, conducting client interviews and extensive client contact regarding discovery matters Discovery preparation, including the collection and organization of documents necessary for the case Preparing trial notebooks and aiding in trial settings Preparing, assembling, and organizing exhibits for declarations, motions, mediations, trials, and general pleadings; coordinating exhibit intake, control, exhibit lists, and consistent labeling Preparing and reviewing discovery packages, including requests for admissions, answers to interrogatories, and production requests Working closely and collaboratively with legal assistants within the practice group Annual billable hour requirement as assigned by the practice group Education and Qualifications Requirements Education: Associate degree, High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or industry-specific certifications. Prior law firm experience as a family law paralegal is required. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to grasp concepts quickly and efficiently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Acclimate to practice group procedure. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Strong time management skills and capacity to work well in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment. Dedication to accuracy and thoroughness in work product. Benefits: Position Type: Full-time (40 hours per week) Work From Home: This position offers onsite work with the opportunity to work up to two days remotely per week after a six-month onboarding period.
