What you'll do This is a paralegal role inside a tech team, so you’ll be doing paralegal work but not as you know it. You’ll be the human backing our AI Paralegal product – stepping in when the AI hits its edge, fixing what needs fixing in the backend, and translating every manual intervention into product improvements so we don’t have to do it again. Family law is your home turf, and your judgment is what turns a support request into a better product. To make this happen you will: Pick up inbound requests from law firms in real time – Intercom-style messages that land with full context, ready for you to act on Jump into the backend of our system and resolve whatever the AI couldn’t – tweaking, fixing, completing the work the firm needed Get on the phone with clients and lawyers when needed – using your family law experience to read between the lines, ask the right question, and figure out what should actually happen Translate every manual intervention into a clear product ticket for the dev team – not just describing what happened, but framing what it means for the product so it works even better going forward Prioritise across a reactive queue – you won’t know what each day looks like, and turning the right things around quickly matters Help firms to get their existing matters ready for their AI Paralegal Workshop new features with the team to help family law firms get the most out of their AI Paralegal What you’ll bring Solid family law paralegal experience – ideally across more than one firm, so you’ve seen how different practices do things The ability to hold your own with family lawyers and push back if needed Sharp judgment in ambiguous situations – you can read between the lines and figure out what someone actually needs An eye for detail Strong written communication – your tickets and notes are what the dev team builds from Comfortable with reactive, fast-moving work – you can prioritise, switch context, and turn things around quickly Curious about how AI is changing legal work – and excited to be part of building it You are the type of person who Wants more from your legal career and is looking for something that isn’t another law firm Looks at a problem and immediately thinks about how to stop it happening again, not just fix it now Wants your opinion to count – you’d rather have a voice in shaping how things work than fit into someone else’s process Thinks like a product person, even if you’ve never had the title – you can articulate why something matters, not just what happened CORTO is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential.
