Description

We’re a national law firm with a local reach. Our philosophy is ‘we’re legal and financial experts that care’ – something you’ll find in the way we work with our clients and how we support our teams. But we’re more than just a law firm – we’re a team of people working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs. Working here you’ll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment.
We’ll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and push boundaries to achieve incredible things and make a real difference to our clients and communities.
We’re always looking to support our colleagues to work in a way that works best for them and everyone else, including our clients, the business and the regulators. Please speak to a member of our Recruitment and Onboarding team for more information.

Responsibilities

Our High Net Worth and International Private Client Team advises on high-value international and domestic and tax, trust, and estate matters. We have a loyal and well-established client base of HNW and UHNW individuals, families, family offices, and fiduciary providers.
The team specialises in two areas. The first is complex international tax planning, succession planning, and asset structuring, for which they are highly regarded and in respect of which they have forged strong links in the international finance centres. The second is their tax and business wealth offering to entrepreneurs, business owners, owner-managed businesses, and wealth creators of all types in the UK and abroad.

The role will involve:

  • Liaising with clients directly including attending client conference calls and meetings and taking minutes.
  • Undertaking legal research.
  • Supporting fee earners in the running of their cases.
  • Proof reading and checking forms and documents for accuracy.
  • Attending and contributing to team/practice area meetings and complying with directions/decisions made to ensure team objectives achieved.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in relevant law and practice and attending appropriate training events to ensure up to date legal knowledge and best practice.
  • Undertaking administrative tasks as required such as opening matters, requesting and reviewing AML documentation, preparing letters of engagement.
  • Assisting in the promotion and marketing of Irwin Mitchell’s immigration services.
