WHO WE ARE

You’ll be joining a national law firm that enjoys a strong reputation, made possible by our exceptional people – each chosen for their industry knowledge and passion for their field. We want to help you to reach your full potential, love the work you do and deliver the best results for your clients. It’s our goal to make you feel great about working with us, and we work hard to cultivate a culture that makes it easy for you to stay with us for many years.
We work flexibly and you’ll be empowered to work where you do your best work, balancing your individual needs with the need for us to engage as teams and deliver excellent client service.
Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion, working from home and attending our offices on occasion. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.

Responsibilities:

DAY TO DAY, YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE BY:

As a paralegal you will support a team of experienced lawyers gaining experience in a variety of interesting work. You will assist with a range of general administration tasks to keep the team organised, but you will also gain experience and understanding of client work and develop your skills as a lawyer.

Working under supervision and guidance, you will be able to take responsibility for progressing transactions like the following:

  • Assisting in housing condition claims brought by tenants.
  • Liaising with colleagues, clients, courts and opposing representatives.
  • Assisting in drafting pleadings and witness statements in support of applications brought in the County Court.

You will soon become an integral part of this highly regarded team, playing a key part in delivering an excellent level of service to our clients and building your legal career accordingly.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with data security and all firm policies and procedures.

THIS ROLE IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

You will be a law/GDL graduate or equivalent with a keen interest in law. Additionally, if you have already completed the LPC this will be of great benefit but is not essential.
Previous paralegal experience would be desirable particularly in respect of housing condition claims, but what is most important is your attitude, so you will need to show us that you are hard-working, with initiative, drive and great organisational skills. On-the-job training and guidance will be provided to enable you to succeed in this role.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, being able to adapt your style to communicate effectively with a wide range of professional people and other stakeholders.
This is a busy role within a litigation team, with deadlines to manage and competing priorities, so you will be required to work quickly, accurately and efficiently and remain calm under pressure. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first-class support service to your colleagues and our clients, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
