Overview Position: Paralegal II Location: Remote Compensation: $37-39/hr, DOE Position Summary: New American Funding is seeking a Paralegal II to support the Legal Department. We seek smart, motivated candidates who are proactive, able to work independently, able to prioritize work and handle high volume in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, and pay great attention to detail. The position provides an opportunity to be part of an active office and close-knit team in a role critical to the performance of the company’s business. Responsibilities Develop and maintain contract templates as part of the Contract Risk Management program; Perform preliminary contract reviews of commercial agreements (e.g., vendor agreements, business agreements, leases, and similar documents) using established document standards to identify key terms, issues, and deviations; Update and maintain contract data in a contract management software; Review and interpret corporate documents, legal communications, and other legal documents, such as subpoenas; Review and interpret moderately complicated rules and regulations; Ensure clear and prompt communication with business units and provide guidance on required actions as necessary; Maintain and organize legal documents and data in third party and proprietary systems, including ticketing systems; Research and respond to complaints from regulators and government entities; and Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have 5+ years of relevant experience High skill level with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; High comfort level using custom or proprietary software, such as ticketing systems, contract management systems, and SharePoint/Azure; Experience performing legal research using legal research systems, such as AllRegs; Experience analyzing and interpreting regulations and rules; Experience in mortgage industry preferred; Ability to complete work timely with high degree of accuracy; Self-motivated, detail oriented and able to multi-task; Strong sense of accountability and work ethic; and Positive and a good team player.
