Description
Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Paralegal to support an in-house Bankruptcy team. This role will assist attorneys with client intake, case preparation, document drafting, filing, and case management for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies. You will work closely with attorneys, clients, and court systems to ensure matters are handled efficiently, accurately, and with compassion. Key Responsibilities Conduct client intake and eligibility screening for bankruptcy (Chapter 7/13) matters Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, SOFAs, and supporting documentation Coordinate with clients to gather necessary financial information Track case status, deadlines, hearings, and trustee meetings Draft letters, motions, and legal documents under attorney direction Monitor creditor claims, reaffirmations, and other ongoing case items Maintain accurate case files and utilize electronic court filing (ECF) Provide high-quality, sensitive communication with clients experiencing financial stress Uphold confidentiality standards and compliance with local rules Qualifications Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience 2–4 years of bankruptcy paralegal experience (Chapter 7 and/or 13) Strong understanding of federal bankruptcy procedures and documentation Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills Proficient in ECF filings and case management software Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism Preferred Experience Foreclosure defense or creditor negotiation support Exposure to estate planning or probate matters Bilingual skills a plus (Spanish preferred) Why This Opportunity Work closely with a focused legal team in a collaborative environment Direct contribution to helping clients rebuild financial stability Professional learning and career advancement opportunities C122
