DESCRIPTION

The role of Paralegal is to support the members of the litigation motor team in achieving Client KPI’s and SLA’s. The team handle cases from Corporate clients with a value of up to £100K.
The litigated motor team are a growing team and the role of Paralegal is a great stepping-stone for someone wanting to embark on their legal career.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To undertake a range of duties on files including; diarising court orders, dealing with CRU, sending chasers, processing imprest payments, completion of MI file closure and other delegated chargeable non-legal tasks.
  • To achieve a chargeable target
  • To assist with other non-chargeable duties including file closures/transfer and other administration tasks as requested by the team.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Established interest in law either through further education or experience within a process driven legal environment.
  • IT Literate; Proficient in MS Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to re-prioritise and delegate effectively when required.
  • Confident with ability to take initiative to innovate and adapt to changing situations.
  • Good team worker with the flexibility to do what is required to get a result and ensure client service levels are met.
  • Work effectively within the Keoghs Shared Behaviour framework.
  • Confidence to seek advice and guidance when dealing with new tasks.
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instruction with attention to detail.
  • Client care - Respond professionally to client requests and have an ability to maintain an even disposition whilst handling sensitive and/or confidential material.
