JOB SUMMARY

KYL Law Firm is an Immigration & Family Law Firm. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join the firm. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various legal tasks, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and well-organized. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Represent Clients at the Family Law Court-Ontario
  • Preparation of legal documents, including briefs, and pleadings.
  • Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases.
  • Perform legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
  • Draft and proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation using legal case management systems.
  • Manage project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Exhibit professional phone etiquette while communicating with clients, courts, and other legal professionals.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.

  • Must have Family Legal Services Provider (FLSP) license.
  • Must be able to represent clients at the Family Law Courts of Ontario.
  • Strong interviewing skills to effectively gather information from clients and witnesses.
  • Proficient writing abilities for drafting clear and concise legal documents.
  • Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all written materials.
  • Familiarity with family and immigration law management systems is preferred.
  • Experience in legal drafting for various types of documents is essential.
  • Strong phone etiquette for professional communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Effective project management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to maintain orderly files and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using Lexis-Nexis and Canli for conducting thorough legal research.
  • Administrative capabilities to support the overall functioning of the legal team.
