If this sounds like you, MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law is seeking an experienced full-time Paralegal to work based out of our office in Halifax, NS.
MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law is a civil litigation boutique firm representing clients across Atlantic Canada and beyond. We currently have offices located in New Glasgow, NS; Halifax, NS; St. John’s, NL; and Moncton, NB.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent role-related education and experience
Previous relevant experience working as a Paralegal (minimum 1 year experience)
Proficiency and aptitude for working with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Case Management software
Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
Proven ability to work independently, take initiative and exercise sound judgement
Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
Able to be flexible, and adapt easily to change
Experience working in the field of personal injury law is an asset

Responsibilities:

Assisting lawyers in preparation for mediation and judicial dispute resolutions
Preparing, drafting, and reviewing legal documents and correspondence
Organizing and maintaining accurate records for filing and word processing
Researching records, court files and other legal documents
Supporting and contacting clients to schedule appointments, communicate case progress, and to obtain or exchange information
