Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Employment, Pensions and Immigration team. The Birmingham - based role is primarily to support our Birmingham employment team and will also involve work across our National Service Line, supporting clients across a broad range of sectors including automotive, retail, technology, sport, health, and education. This is an exciting opportunity to support a busy and collaborative team, advising a wide range of clients on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

You will play a key role in supporting lawyers with all elements of case preparation, client liaison, legal research, document management, training, client meetings and much more. The role is ideal for someone looking to develop their legal career in a dynamic and supportive environment. Some examples of the work you can expect to be involved in includes:

  • Assisting with the preparation of Employment Tribunal bundles and documentation.
  • Drafting correspondence, contracts, and witness statements under supervision.
  • Conducting legal research and summarising findings for the team.
  • Managing case files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and internal knowledge sharing.
  • Attending client meetings and taking detailed notes where required.
  • Supporting with preparation of training materials (and delivery where appropriate).

Given the responsibilities of this role, it’s likely that your background and experience will:

  • Has a law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Demonstrates a genuine interest in employment law.
  • Is confident, self-managed, and able to prioritise their own workload.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is highly organised and methodical with strong attention to detail.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and building relationships across teams.
  • Is eager to take on new challenges and responsibilities
