Paralegal Department: Legal Employment Type: Full Time Location: London Reporting To: Gabriela Sanchez Urzais Description This is a key role supporting Peninsula’s in house Legal team based in London. Peninsula is a global marine energy and fuel supplier operating across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments. As a Paralegal, you will play a central role in supporting the Legal team with group corporate governance, entity management and compliance requirements across the Peninsula group. This includes assisting with the incorporation of new entities, maintaining ongoing corporate secretarial compliance, and coordinating execution of legal and corporate documentation globally. This role is well suited to a highly organised, proactive and detail oriented law graduate who has completed, or is in the process of completing, the LPC and is seeking exposure to a fast paced, international in house legal environment within the shipping and energy sector. An understanding of the shipping, commodities or energy industries and prior experience in an in house or corporate paralegal role would be advantageous. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinating and ensuring corporate secretarial compliance for all Peninsula group entities globally, including statutory filings and internal governance requirements. Supporting the incorporation of new group entities in various jurisdictions and managing associated post incorporation compliance. Working closely with third party corporate service providers, law firms and internal stakeholders to ensure corporate requirements are completed accurately and on time. Liaising with Peninsula’s authorised signatories and relevant stakeholders to coordinate the execution of corporate documents, including resolutions, agreements and deeds. Coordinating the execution, certification, notarisation and apostilling of documents across multiple jurisdictions. Drafting and maintaining corporate documentation, including board resolutions, minutes and statutory registers, ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality. Coordinating the organisation and execution of Board meetings and AGMs, where required. Maintaining accurate and up to date electronic and physical corporate records, trackers and filing systems. Providing general legal and administrative support to the Legal team as required, including ad hoc corporate and compliance projects. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Good working knowledge of company law and corporate governance, preferably under English law. Previous experience in a paralegal or corporate services role is desirable. Exposure to the shipping, commodities or energy sectors would be advantageous. Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities across jurisdictions. Able to work effectively under time pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy. Commercially aware, with the ability to understand and balance legal, business and operational considerations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders. A collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships across the business. Spanish language skills are desirable. QUALIFICATIONS, ACCREDITATION Law graduate (or equivalent) who has successfully completed, or is currently completing, the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
