Description This is an opening for a paralegal with at least three years’ experience working in our Binghamton office. Provides title services for a multi-branch regional law firm. Responsible for supporting real estate transactions by assembling abstracts of title, obtain tax documentation or performing other research related to escrow and title closings. This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week) with benefits. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conducts title searches to compile abstracts of title and continuations of same ranging in complexity, that require research and investigation Work may be done in an office, remotely, or traveling to court houses, municipalities and other government entities to perform the searches Searches can include both commercial and residential transactions Performs a wide range of support functions to assist in departmental processes Follows clearly defined procedures to complete daily tasks and responsibilities Uses existing procedures to solve straightforward problems Uses basic communication skills to address internal and/or external clients and/or team members Individual contributor working with autonomy Communicate directly with attorneys, realtors and title companies Research and respond to inquiries and requests for information Provide other support as needed Requirements Skills and Qualifications: Strong word processing skills including Microsoft Word. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members. Detail oriented. Familiar with computer research of land records in multiple counties, primarily in New York State. Ability to handle and adjust effectively to competing deadlines and priorities. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure. High level of professionalism. Reliable personal transportation. Overtime as necessary.
