Responsibilities

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE

The Regulatory Social Care Team is a high performing team who provide legal advice and conduct casework on behalf of Local Authority Clients, we work across 3 areas of work , Childcare, Adults and Education (SEN Tribunals) and anything that overlaps into those areas.
This role would be well suited to a candidate with experience in any one of those 3 areas but with a particular focus and understanding of SEN Tribunals as this is currently our busiest area
In the alternative, a well motivated individual, eager to learn with great organisational and communication skills and a willingness to hit the ground running would be a welcome candidate!
As a Paralegal you will provide case handling and administrative support to the Solicitors within the team.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the case handlers within the team with their caseloads of Childcare, Adults and Education (SEN Tribunals) cases
  • Potentially manage own small caseload of less complicated cases
  • Respond promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries from clients and courts with and without supervision
  • Perform case handling and administrative tasks such as opening and closing files, sorting incoming and outgoing mail, dealing with routine documentation etc.
  • Assist with the progression of files and updating clients
  • Complete MI procedures as and when required
  • Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
  • Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and KPIs are adhered to
  • Comply with relevant policies and procedures
  • Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values
