THE OPPORTUNITY:

We have an opportunity for a Paralegal to join our expanding Residential Conveyancing team, which is based at our Wymondham office. This growing department works in a fast-paced environment, and they are looking for individuals who relish the challenge that this brings.

THE CANDIDATE:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has previous experience working as a Paralegal, with a fee earning target (at least 1 year).
  • Has previous experience working on residential purchase and sales matters.
  • Ideally holds relevant legal qualifications, or is currently working towards these.
  • Has a commitment to providing an excellent standard of client care.
  • Is commercially astute.
  • Has working knowledge of Conveyancing practice and procedures.
  • Is IT literate, an accurate typist (including dictations), and has experience using a case management system.
  • Has great time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Enjoys a busy environment, is adept at multitasking, and has the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Has a positive “can-do” attitude and loves learning new skills.
  • Is a team-player who can quickly build report and gain the trust of their team and clients, in this demanding area of legal work.
Responsibilities

This role will see the successful candidate undertaking the following tasks:

  • Handling of a caseload of property transactions.
  • Liaising with clients, developers, and other stakeholders, and building strong rapport, to ensure a seamless transaction process.
  • Providing support to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and financial requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for each transaction.
  • Carrying out post exchange work for the team, such as preparing completion statements, drafting replies to requisitions, carrying out registrations, and preparing telegraphic transfers.
  • Completing SDLT forms.
  • Opening and closing of files, and conducting searches.
  • Drafting and preparing forms and documentation.
  • Handling telephone calls, emails, and general correspondence, queries, and enquiries.
  • Contributing to a positive and supportive team dynamic.
  • Participating in business development opportunities and networking events to promote firm services.
  • Providing general Paralegal and Administrative support to the team as required.
