JOB DESCRIPTION

Join Allstate’s Litigation Services team as a Paralegal Specialist, where your contributions will be essential to delivering strong legal outcomes and exceptional service to our clients.
Based in California, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on high-impact insurance defense cases involving bodily injury claims. You’ll take ownership of the litigation life cycle — from answering complaints and managing discovery, to preparing for arbitration and trial. With access to hands-on training and mentorship from a collaborative team of paralegals and attorneys, you’ll build deep expertise and grow your career in a supportive, fast-paced legal environment.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must currently reside in California (CA) to be considered for this position.

EDUCATION

  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered such as a 2- year paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience as a Paralegal with a focus on insurance defense or civil litigation preferred.
  • Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced legal environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.

Responsibilities
  • Manage litigation files from inception through resolution, including trial preparation
  • Draft and file pleadings, respond to discovery, and support motion practice
  • Order and track medical records; coordinate expert review and disclosures
  • Prepare arbitration and trial materials, including jury instructions when applicable
  • Handle e-filing in Northern California counties and other California courts
  • Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely service and compliance
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals to maintain organized, high-quality case files
