QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Paralegal or legal qualification would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of property law.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of a property transaction and associated legal aspects.
Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF ROLE

To provide transactional support to the conveyancing teams within the firm (residential, commercial, agricultural/rural, property finance, house builders) in connection with purchase, sale, title transfer, lease and security transactions and ancillary support services such as Land and Buildings Transaction Tax ("LBTT") returns, and Registers of Scotland and Companies House registrations.

KEY TASKS

  • Drafting and instructing searches and external reports.
  • Carrying out searches on ScotLIS.
  • Obtaining copy deeds.
  • Preparing and submitting LBTT returns.
  • Preparing Registers of Scotland application forms and submitting applications for registration.
  • Preparing cash accounts and invoices for purchase and sale transactions.
  • Checking updated Title Sheets.
  • Completing online registrations at Companies House.
  • Preparing simple dispositions, loan documentation, discharges and other documents relating to a conveyancing transaction.
  • Checking leases and preparing standard lease reports for clients and/or lenders.
  • Interacting with other members of the Hub to ensure best service to the instructing teams.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Hub and the services it provides to your colleagues as the opportunities arise.
