Assist Ambulance is looking for new and experienced Paramedics to join us full-time and part-time at our Bronx base! Assist is a New York City EMS agency offering a full range of emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs. Assist has a proud 30 year history of providing these services to the diverse and vibrant communities of NYC. Assist Ambulance offers Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support via emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports for various hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctor's offices, and community-based organizations. Job Requirements: Must have an active NY State EMT-P card and NYC REMAC - NREMT card is not accepted alone Paramedics without any experience are welcome to apply as long as they are fully certified at time of application Must be at least 20 years old with 1 years driving experience in New York City Must have a valid, clean NYS D Class driver’s license DJ licenses are not accepted Must be physically fit to lift 125 lbs. in accordance with the NYS DOH and pass a lifting assessment Must be able to get 19A physical clearance and negative PPD test (vouchers provided) Must be able to pass a 10 panel drug screening including THC (We have a strict no tolerance policy) Must be able to commit to at least two 12-hour shifts per week that are the same days every week (steady shifts) Per diem is not available at this time, only part time or full time steady scheduling Must be good with people and able to act responsibly under extreme duress Applicants' criminal history will be considered consistent with the requirements of the New York City Fair Chance Act Job Attributes: Weekly Payday Paid Training Flexible Scheduling Union Shop with 1199 SEIU (contract still being determined) Paid sick time and PTO Free uniforms 8 Hours Pay for staff normally scheduled or working on Christmas, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, and New Year's Day After 90 days, 30+ scheduled hours employees are eligible for Blue Cross Blue Shield Anthem Bronze health coverage with dental and vision vouchers, as well as $5k life insurance, at 50%-65% off based on seniority Free Emergency Vehicle Operator certification and 19a medical certification Annuity plan after first year of employment for full timers - monthly contribution increases at three years of employment Paid vacation after first year of employment - increases at three, six and ten years of employment CME Refresher Program / Voucher Up to $4000 back for Paramedic school Overtime opportunities Large volume of emergency calls Potential to transition to 911 with One Brooklyn Health at Interfaith Medical Center after ~6 mo. employment 5% annual raises as outlined by Local 713 I.B.O.T.U.

Responsibilities

Paramedics will assist in providing emergency medical services and transportation throughout New York City. They will be responsible for patient care and ensuring safe transport to various medical facilities.
