Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: All Work Shifts (United States of America) $7,500 Sign On Bonus! 24 hour shifts Paramedic: Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position Paramedic will provide care and transportation of emergency and non-emergency in the pre-hospital environment and scenes at the Paramedic level of care defined by the Ohio EMS scope of practice. Paramedic will operate an ambulance in a safe and efficient manner. Paramedic will keep current on all required certifications and continuing education. Essential Job Functions Responds to Calls and performs patient assessment and triage Perform IV Therapy and administer approved medications per Ohio EMS Scope of Practice Performs advanced airway management per Ohio EMS Scope of Practice including needle decompression and advanced airway placement. Cardiac Monitor strip interpretation all rhythms per scope of practice and defibrillation Participate/attend required/mandatory trainings. Provides proper care, safe, and efficient transport Maintain proper reports and records Care for vehicle and equipment Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights Serve as a patient advocate Performs other duties as assigned Practices Mercy Core Values May serve as proctor/educator for students This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job. Education Qualifications - Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education: Vocational/ Technical Degree Specialty/Major: Paramedic Certification Licensing/ Certification - Licensure/Certification Required: Paramedic Certification State of Ohio Licensure/Certification Required: Valid Driver’s License/ AHA Healthcare Provider BLS Licensure/Certification Required: AHA ACLS Licensure/Certification Preferred: AHA PALS, NRP, ITLS/PHTL with in 6 months of hire Licensure/Certification Preferred: IS 100 and IS 700 Minimum Qualifications Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 1-3 years preferred Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) within 1 year of hire.
