Within Medical Communications, we improve patient health by supplying medical information services to our customers, patients and healthcare providers. We engage with healthcare professionals, regulatory agencies and pharmaceutical customers to help them navigate regulatory and compliance requirements around the world. We manage medical information inquiries, document adverse events and product complaints, report product launches, prepare standard responses to inquiries and develop process improvements for customer implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (preferably 3
years as a paramedic in a 911 system and/or in a clinical setting) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience. Texas Certified Paramedic , Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently stands, twists waists, squats, and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day.
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements
    of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to

grasp and manipulate objects.

  • Frequent mobility required.
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
  • Moderate lifting (or otherwise movement, carrying, setting, and placement) of 15-30 lbs. with a

maximum lift of 35 lbs.

  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to

and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • _May interact with others, relating and gathering sensitive information. Interaction includes diverse

groups.

  • Works with guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions from management. May require

periods of intense concentration.

  • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions

with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multi-task.

  • Regular and consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Acts as primary subject safety contact for all study subjects in the Clinic.
  • Monitors and records Adverse Events (AEs). Reviews all active AEs prior to dose
    and determines if it is safe for subject to proceed with study procedures and/or
    dosing. If subject safety is in question, may confer with staff paramedic,
    operational management and/or the physician/investigator for additional
    instruction and/or directive. May review all active AEs for a given study and

follow up with study subject(s), as necessary.

  • Provides basic and Advanced medical care, both emergent and non-emergent, to

all study subjects, as appropriate. Assists in the resuscitation and
stabilization of a subject in any life-threatening situation using both accepted

medical protocols and any study specific treatments.

  • May perform technical procedures in the Phase I unit including blood collection,

vital signs, and ECGs.

  • Assesses out of range values for symptomology and may medically intervene

should study subject’s safety be in question.
