Description About Krejci Academy: Krejci ("Kret-see") Academy is a therapeutic day school in Warrenville, IL, serving individuals on the autism spectrum ages 5 - 22 years. We are able to provide small class sizes that speak to students' individual needs. Each classroom is led by a Special Education Teacher with the support of a Teacher Assistant and one or more Paraprofessionals. Paraprofessionals provide support to the classroom teacher in implementing the therapeutic treatment program. Paraprofessionals often work one-on-one with students but can also support the whole class. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:45am - 2:45pm Compensation: Starting at $20.00/hr Age requirement: At least 19 y ears of age License requirement (Little Friends can assist candidates with this process): Option 1: Paraprofessional license through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Option 2: Substitute license through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Essential functions: Must be capable of speaking English clearly and fluently to communicate with staff, children and parents. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, lift 75 pounds, move quickly to respond to client behavior challenges. Must act in a manner that reflects a calm, positive and professional demeanor at all times. Must be able to maintain regular attendance in accordance with agency.
