Description This role consists of helping the classroom teacher with a student who has a need for a para in a one-on-one role. This includes and is not limited to; instructional support within and outside of the classroom, behavior management, student safety and health, student supervision outside of class, and data collection. Other Duties may include: Collect educational data to be reported to the classroom teacher and Special Education Coordinator Track IEP goals and outcomes for IEP meetings Keep track of the student and their schedule Ensure the student’s hygiene and health are taken care of in a timely manner Work with the teacher and Special Education Coordinator to help the student reach their goals Reteach lessons or focus on practicing skills Support the student in becoming independent Positively manage the student’s behavior Requirements Minimum high school diploma; Experience supervising children Successful collaboration and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain a positive learning environment Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, colleagues and administration
Responsibilities
