    Job Title: Parent Involvement Worker Specialist
    Position Function: Provides support and assistance for program components related to the education and involvement of parents as teachers program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Responsibilities
  • Successful completion of National PAT Certification as a Parent Educator.
  • Provide support and services to families identified for services in the Parents as Teachers program.
  • Document parent participation in program home visits, playgroups, parent meetings and other Parents as Teachers activities.
  • Coordinate program support with designated PAT staff members assigned to specific program tasks (i.e. newsletter, events, program promotion, community connections, etc.)
  • Assist in the coordination of community involvement in the Parents as Teachers program and dissemination of information on community resources to families served.
  • Support Parents as Teachers program recruitment and promotion.
  • Provide participating parents and staff with research and information on promising practices in the areas of early childhood education and child development.
  • Participate in 2 hours of reflective supervision with program coordinator on a monthly basis.
  • Administer required PAT screenings within 90 days of visiting a child.
  • Participate in the design development and documentation of professional development activities for parent educators.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of staff for the Parents as Teachers program.
  • Provide support for local, state and national compliance documentation and program evaluation information.
  • Assist in compiling program surveys, statistics and other information for the grant application for funds for the Parents as Teachers program.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and data entry for grant documentation.
    Additional Duties: Assists with additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
    Equipment: This position may require the ability to use SMART boards and iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with WPS guidelines for equipment use.
    Travel: Limited travel between schools and central offices may be required.
