Position: Parenting Education Coordinator (Mat Leave Position)
Program: Parenting Together: Raising Healthy Families Program
Hours: 35 Hours/Week
Reports to: Executive Director
Position Summary
The Parenting Education Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of the Parenting Together: Raising Healthy Families program. This role ensures high-quality program delivery, fosters strong community partnerships, supports families through culturally responsive programming, and supervises program staff.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Program Oversight
  • Lead the overall management and implementation of the Parenting Together: Raising Healthy Families program.
  • Plan and schedule monthly events within NCP and the broader community, both in-person and online.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to ensure alignment with program objectives, service delivery targets, and fundraising goals.
  • Ensure programming and physical environments follow best practices in the field, including Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) guidelines, and reflect community input and needs.
  1. Program Coordination and Facilitation
  • Oversee the smooth delivery of all program activities, special events, and field trips.
  • Develop, edit, and co-create presentations and resources that promote family well-being, incorporating culturally relevant content.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Advisor to align outreach and promotional materials with NCP’s marketing policy.
  • Ensure all materials (e.g., newsletters, flyers, emails) are approved and appropriately distributed; manage the outreach folder
  • Organize and lead Parent Committee meetings, Parent Ambassador onboarding sessions, and volunteer engagement initiatives.
  1. Community Engagement
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners and internal departments to support shared goals.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts, guest speaker invitations, and the management of family donations.
  • Foster strong, respectful relationships with families by offering ongoing support, culturally sensitive resources, and research-informed strategies.
  • Maintain and update parent and community resource materials in both print and digital formats, including the parent information board.
  • Demonstrate responsiveness to diverse cultural backgrounds and unique family experiences.
  1. Team and Staff Management
  • Supervise program staff, including scheduling, approving timesheets and travel claims, conducting performance evaluations, and providing coverage when necessary.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and monthly check-ins with the Executive Director.
  • Coordinate relevant professional development opportunities for staff to ensure best practice implementation
  1. Administrative Responsibilities
  • Manage the program budget and coordinate the purchasing of supplies and materials.
  • Prepare program reports and contribute to grant applications to secure additional funding.
  • Use evaluation feedback to streamline and enhance program operations.
  • Represent the parenting team at NCP administrative and planning meetings.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with families in diverse communities.
  • Strong organizational skills; self-motivated, creative, and energetic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
