THE POSITION:

In partnership with Anglicare, we are seeking to appoint a godly and gifted person to the role of Parish Village Chaplain at Warriewood Brook Village (three days a week, including Sunday mornings). The purpose of the role is to ensure that the spiritual needs of the residents (and staff) of the village are met in a comprehensive way, in partnership with the existing chaplaincy team.
The successful applicant will serve alongside two other part-time village chaplains with the village. This role is open to candidates who may be either an ordained Anglican minister (preferred) or a lay minister eligible to be authorised by the Archbishop of Sydney as an Anglicare Chaplain.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Is a mature and godly follower of Jesus
  • Has a theological qualification from a reformed evangelical theological college
  • Has experience in an aged-care setting, including leadership of volunteers, pastoral care, and equipping Christians for works of service
  • Can demonstrate a relational warmth, empathy, compassion, and understanding of different people’s situations and perspectives
  • Can manage their time and responsibilities well with excellent communication skills
  • Is keen to get on mission with our church to see a Northern Beaches that knows Jesus.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and nurture the relationship between the village and the church
  • Provide leadership to the chaplaincy team
  • Provide and develop pastoral care to residents, and staff, of the village
  • Provide leadership for the weekly church service and other occasional and special services as appropriate
  • Lead various opportunities for residents that provide discipleship and Christian input, including leadership of bible study groups, equipping believers for ministry and mission, and serving the needs of people within the community.
