Job Title: Parking Enforcement Officer
Job Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Job Type: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $18.20 - $21.46 per hour

OVERVIEW:

Allied Universal is seeking Parking Enforcement Officers to oversee security operations at our Canadian site in Winnipeg.

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 25 years of age for driving position
  • Minimum of Class 5 Full Driver’s License
  • Minimum of Two (2) year of driving experience in Canada
  • Knowledge of parking regulations, traffic laws, and enforcement procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Able to utilize sound judgment in enforcing parking regulations
  • Detail-oriented with proficient record-keeping abilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Previous experience in law enforcement, parking enforcement, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Apply thorough knowledge of all parking regulations, by-laws and procedures and enforce them through the issuance of a Parking Offence Notice (PON) in accordance with the policies of the Parking Authority
  • Conducting routine patrols of designated parking areas, streets, and public spaces to monitor compliance with parking regulations
  • Issue parking citations or tickets to vehicles that violate parking regulations, such as parking in restricted zones, expired meters, or unauthorized spaces
  • Provide information to the public regarding parking regulations, restrictions, and enforcement procedures through communication with motorists and the distribution of informational materials
  • Respond to complaints from residents, businesses, or other agencies regarding parking violations, illegally parked vehicles, or other related issues
  • Coordinate with towing companies or authorities to remove vehicles that are parked illegally, abandoned, or pose a hazard to public safety
  • Maintain accurate records of parking violations, citations issued, and enforcement actions taken, including photographs or documentation as necessary
  • Provide testimony and evidence in court proceedings related to parking violations and enforcement actions
  • Resolve disputes or conflicts related to parking violations through effective communication and mediation with motorists and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, traffic engineers, transportation departments, and municipal officials to address parking-related issues and improve enforcement strategies
