Responsibilities

AS THE FRIENDLY FACE OF FAIR PARKING IN SHELLHARBOUR, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Patrolling public areas: Ensure vehicles are parked safely & legally while maintaining a visible and approachable presence within the community.
  • Educating drivers: Share your knowledge of parking rules and regulations, helping drivers understand safe practices and promote compliance.
  • Address concerns: Address unattended vehicles & damaged signage while maintaining calm and professionalism, even in challenging situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote safe, lawful, and efficient parking by enforcing road rules, ensuring availability for residents and visitors and conducting thorough patrols, especially in school zones.
  • Apply a balanced, risk-based approach to enforcement, enhancing community safety and overall amenity.
  • Represent the Council in legal proceedings by preparing court briefs, gathering evidence for prosecution and providing testimony when required.
