Parking Enforcement Officer - Days / Nights / Weekends
Required Immediately! - Belleville, Ontario
Part / Full time positions available
Duties include: Patrolling Belleville area enforcing parking bylaws
This position is physically demanding in that it requires periods of extensive walking in all-weather elements. Good judgement and strong interpersonal skills are essential qualities for a Parking Enforcement Officer to deal effectively with the public.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • General parking operations and parking equipment.
  • Communication and conflict resolution strategies.

SKILLS IN:

  • Customer service and communicating clearly and objectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Thoroughly carrying out written and oral instructions.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Windows PCs and related applications (Word / Excel / Access / Outlook)
  • Comfortable with Android phones

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • The ability to read, write neatly, and communicate effectively in English
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Criminal record check.

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of parking and related code enforcement.
  • Experience working with the public.
Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Patrolling Designated Areas
  • Observe and Identify parking infractions and issue appropriate citation
  • Assist customers with proper use of pay stations.
  • Answer applicable parking questions accurately and educate.
  • Remain calm and professional even when dealing with challenging individuals
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
  • Understand spoken information.
  • Listen to others and ask questions.
  • Write clearly so other people can understand.
