Join the team at the iconic Sou’wester Restaurant and Gift Shop, located in the breathtakingly beautiful and bustling Peggy’s Cove! As a Parking Lot Attendant, you will be the first and last point of contact for many of our valued guests, playing a crucial role in ensuring a positive and efficient arrival and departure experience. During our peak tourist season, Peggy’s Cove becomes a vibrant hub, and your ability to manage parking flow with courtesy and efficiency will be essential to our daily operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced and high-traffic environment, especially during peak season.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to direct traffic effectively.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic cash handling skills (if applicable).
  • A proactive and responsible attitude.
  • Previous experience in parking management or customer service is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Traffic Management: Direct arriving vehicles to available parking spaces in a safe and organized manner, maximizing parking capacity while ensuring smooth traffic flow.
  • Guest Interaction: Greet guests warmly and provide helpful information, such as directions to the restaurant, gift shop, or local attractions. Offer a positive first impression of the Sou’wester and Peggy’s Cove.
  • Parking Enforcement: Monitor parking areas to ensure compliance with parking regulations and time limits (if applicable). Politely address any parking violations.
  • Assisting Guests: Assist guests with parking-related inquiries or challenges, such as finding accessible parking or navigating busy periods.
  • Maintaining Order: Keep the parking lot area tidy and free of debris, ensuring a clean and safe environment for guests and pedestrians.
  • Cash Handling (if applicable): Collect parking fees accurately and efficiently, providing appropriate change and receipts (if a paid parking system is in place).
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with other staff members regarding parking availability and any potential issues.
  • Safety Awareness: Be vigilant in observing and reporting any potential safety hazards or security concerns within the parking area.
  • End-of-Day Procedures: Assist with any end-of-day parking lot procedures as required.
