MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with major coursework in law, government, history, business or public administration.
  • Requires four (4) years of progressively professional experience in law enforcement investigatory work or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefers thorough knowledge of modern law enforcement investigatory concepts and techniques.Prefers thorough knowledge of Illinois State statutes, rules, and regulations concerning conflicts of interest or malfeasance of office.
  • Prefers extensive knowledge of the functions and interrelationships of State agencies.Prefers extensive knowledge of the methods and procedures of the office management and contractual services.
Responsibilities
  • Serves as the Southern Regional Deputy Chief, managing through subordinate Parole AdministrativeCommanders and Parole Supervisors.
  • Represents the Director and Assistant Director before the court and other public or private organizations.
  • Reviews and audits policies, programs, and management practices..
  • Serves as full-line supervisor
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove.
