Silkstone Golf club is a friendly and welcoming golf club, in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, just 2 minutes from junction 37 of the M1. The club was established in 1893 and we offer an excellent championship golf course with some of the finest practice facilities in the county, with stunning views over the Silkstone valley towards Emley Moor and Cannon Hall. We are constantly updating our Clubhouse offer and we provide a full range of catering facilities with a wide selection of breakfasts, lunches, events and a comprehensive bar menu.

ABOUT YOU.

We are looking for a talented and motivated Part-time Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will report to our Head Chef and will be an integral part of a small team in an efficient, 5* rated kitchen. They will be responsible for preparing quality food, maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety standards and providing our members with a consistent offering. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef looking for a part-time role with the opportunity to work full time hours if suitable and to work in a dynamic and growing golf club.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of culinary experience
  • Relevant culinary qualifications will be an advantage (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Culinary Arts)
  • Level 2 Food safety & hygiene for catering preferable
  • Excellent cooking skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays
